Kate Gabbitas
Voice, Piano, Trumpet, Songwriting, Beginning Guitar, Production
Kate Gabbitas is an award winning vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and active songwriter with extensive academic and stage training in commercial music and jazz. She spent two years studying commercial music with a jazz emphasis at Brigham Young University, where she won 1st place in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition, before continuing her music studies at Utah Valley University. While voice is her primary specialty, she is an accomplished pianist and trumpet player, performing instrumentally and vocally at events like the Jazz Education Network Conference in New Orleans. Along with voice, trumpet, and piano, she teaches music theory, songwriting, and music production. She is seasoned in the local music scene, having played in numerous bands and at iconic venues like Velour and Kilby Court, both in local collaborations and fronting her own original project, Kate Fitz and the Romantics.
Kate is currently in her 12th year of teaching, starting at the age of 16 in her family home in Springville, UT. She pairs a deep dedication to the creative process with a structured, highly goal oriented framework. She firmly believes in the power of creation, and that music without creativity is missing its core purpose, using music as a tool to unlock self expression and deeper human connection while teaching students how to play for themselves and navigate their own artistic independence. Every semester, Kate's students set distinct goals and work deliberately to achieve them both inside and outside of lessons. She sets up a clear, accountable structure that has enabled her first students at the Davis School of four years to make extraordinary, lasting progress. Kate is devoted to creating an empowering enviroment where rigorous progress and genuine artistic discovery happen hand in hand.
Ryan Call
Voice, Guitar, Songwriting, Production
Ryan Call is an accomplished vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, and producer currently finishing his degree in commercial music at Utah Valley University. Formally trained in both classical and contemporary technique, he brings a remarkably versatile foundation to his teaching. Ryan is an active fixture in the local music scene, regularly performing his extensive catalog of original songs at venues across the Utah and Salt Lake Valleys, including featured performances at events like Fork Fest in American Fork, Utah Pride in Salt Lake City, and Buzzards and Bees in Provo. Known for his whimsical creative flair and practical industry knowledge, Ryan also works as a music producer, guiding artists through the process of bringing their songs from initial concept to polished recording.
In the studio, Ryan's teaching style is defined by warmth, patience, and genuine enthusiasm. He believes music education and music in general should be engaging and joyful, frequently bringing a sense of humor and lighthearted fun into his lessons to help students feel relaxed and confident. Ryan finds deep fulfillment in watching his students discover their capabilities and reach their full potential. Above all, he is dedicated to creating an encouraging enviroment where students of all levels feel inspired to explore their unique sound an enjoy the process of making music.
Alison Rowley
Voice, Piano, Guitar, Songwriting
Ali specializes in contemporary styles ranging from rock to musical theater and everything in between. Over the last two years, she has studied directly under Ted Reedy, one of the best leading contemporary vocal instructors in the state. She brings a strong foundation in modern vocal mechanics to the studio, helping singers navigate the stylistic nuances of their chosen genres while prioritzing healthy, sustainable technique.
Ali is easygoing and has a highly individualized and student-led approach to vocal coaching. She works closely with each student to discover their most authentic sound at a comfortable, supportive pace. With Ali as your coach, you will sing the music you love with confidence!
Thomas Gabbitas
Saxophone, Clarinet, Piano, Flute
Thomas Gabbitas is a dynamic saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and active jazz musician currently studying at Brigham Young University, where he performs in the BYU Jazz Ensemble. Fresh off an LDS mission in Texas, Thomas offers comprehensive instruction in saxophone, clarinet, piano, and beginning flute. He brings a strong track record of competetive and live performance experience to the studio, having earned top awards in saxophone ensembles and Solo and Ensemble festivals as well as regularly performing on stage, including gigging as a band member in Kate Fitz and the Romantics.
Renowned for his charismatic energy, comedic demeanor, and warm personality, Thomas creates a studio enviroment that is both lighthearted and thoroughly motivating. He pairs an effortless, confident stage presense with a deeply supportive teaching approach, helping students break through performance anxiety and find joy in their playing.
